7つのフレーズをご紹介します。
Cherry-pick: Only selecting the most desirable
（望ましいものだけを選ぶ）
【例】Oftentimes politicians cherry-pick facts that suit their arguments and don’t talk about the whole picture.
（多くの場合、政治家は自身の主張に都合の良い事実だけを選び、全貌については語らない。）
Upset the apple cart: Make something disorganized
（何かをまとまりのない状態にする）
【例】I’m a vegetarian, but the wedding menu is already planned. I’m not going to say anything. I don’t want to upset the apple cart.
（わたしはベジタリアンだけど、結婚式のメニューはすでに計画されているから、これについて何も言わない。場を乱したくないから。）
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade: Make the best of a situation
（その状態で最善を尽くす）
【例】I know this school wasn’t your first choice, but it’s still a great school. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.
（この学校が第1志望でないことは知ってるけど、それでもとてもいい学校だよ。ここで一生懸命がんばれば大丈夫だよ。）
Cool as a cucumber: Someone who is calm even when there is a difficult situation happening
（困難なときでも落ち着いている人）
【例】During the debate, they asked her a lot of tough questions, but she was as cool as a cucumber.
（ディベートの最中、彼女は多くの難しい質問を受けたが、彼女は非常に落ち着いていた。）
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.: A child who is a lot like their parent(s)
（親によく似た子ども）
【例】She has a gift for music, just like her farther. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
（父親と同じように、彼女は音楽の才能を持っている。子は親によく似るものである。）
That’s like comparing apples and oranges.: You can’t compare two things that are totally different.
（2つの異なるものを比べることはできない）
【例】I can’t choose which movie I like more. One is a comedy and the other is a very serious drama. That’s like comparing apples and oranges.
（どっちの映画の方が好きか決められないよ。1つはコメディで、もう1つはすごくシリアスな映画なんだ。2つは違いすぎて比べられないよ。）
Go bananas: Become crazy
（おかしくなる）
【例】When the singer took the stage, the crowd went bananas.
（そのアーティストがステージに立ったとき、観客は熱狂した。）
